leslie_carothersErin was “twittering” one day and found Leslie Carothers tweets. She said I should check her out, and the next thing you know, we started talking on the phone. That led to us asking Leslie to speak at our first Green Design Summit.

She’s an experienced interior designer, that has found her true passion in social media. She is also passionate about green design. We are so excited to have her as a part of our panel of green design experts as she shares her knowledge about specifiying furniture in a greener way.

Leslie Carothers is a 25 year veteran of the home furnishings industry.  In 2002, she founded The Kaleidoscope Partnership (TKP) specializing in design based sales training and, more recently, on consulting with retailers and manufacturers on how to powerfully and profitably use the internet to drive revenue and sustainable profits.

Leslie writes Furniture Today’s online “Retail Ideas” blog, as well as a series on Technology and Retail for Furniture World magazine.  In addition, she has been a speaker at many industry events, including Furniture Today’s Leadership Conference in 2006 and will be a guest speaker at the May 2008 All-Industry Conference in the Bahamas.

On a volunteer basis, she is a member of the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association, as well as serving on the national retail advisory board for Help1Up – an organization that gives furniture to needy families throughout the US.  Additionally, she serves as the Education Chair on the board of Women in the Home Industries Today – WITHIT – where she was the chair of the 2008 Education Conference.
